Our Warwickshire Post 16 learners, alongside staff and families, recently came together to host a fantastic Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising an incredible £412 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Led by Latissa Smith, the event was a true team effort that showcased the skills, dedication and community spirit of our young people.
From planning and organising the event to baking cakes, decorating the venue, welcoming guests and running activities, learners were involved every step of the way. The event provided valuable opportunities to develop confidence, teamwork, communication and independence, while supporting a cause that is close to the hearts of many within our community.
Community Support Makes a Difference
The coffee morning was well attended by parents, family members, staff and members of the local community, whose generosity and support helped make the event such a success. Many visitors also donated raffle and tombola prizes, contributing to the fundraising total.
While the £412 raised is a fantastic achievement, the event was about much more than fundraising. It was an opportunity for our young people to take ownership, work collaboratively and demonstrate what can be achieved when everyone comes together with a shared purpose.
